COMPUTER STORE BUYER (DAM II) $3,767 - $5,650 (monthly): Under general
direction of the Computer Store Division Manager, is responsible for achieving
sales, gross margin, and contribution budgets for all products offered for
resale in the department including developing merchandising strategies with
customer profiles, merchandise classifications, and a strong resource
structure that ensures competitive pricing and strong gross margin.  Is
responsible for control of markups, markdowns, inventory levels and shrinkage.
 Negotiates and develops academic resale programs to maximize product and
price offerings to the UCLA community.  Oversees administrative office and

Evaluate procurement transactions (e.g., subcontracts, teaming agreements,
leases, etc.) of all types to assure adherence to company procedures and
Government rules, regulations and laws, including international transactions.
Assist in determining strategies for proposals to the U.S. Government and
other customers.  Participate in identifying risks in business deals and
provide advice on mitigating those risks.  Make decisions applying Federal
regulations and customer contractual requirements to a multitude of diverse
contractual business related issues.  Act as a focal point to assist buying
personnel in the resolution/negotiation of terms and conditions with suppliers.
  Develop and maintain all local Materiel procedures to assure ongoing
compliance with Company, Customer and Government regulations.  Be cognizant of
all Materiel processes (e.g., subcontracting, receiving and shipping, cost
analysis, inventory management, material estimating, etc.) and the Government
rules, laws, and regulations, as well as applicable Company policies and
procedures relating to the processes.  A working knowledge of Microsoft Office
is preferred.  A J.D. or equivalent proposal and negotiating experience is
preferred.

This is a senior level position in contract compliance and it is open now.
The salary range is approximately $44,000 to $65,000.
